Chihuahuas have an average height of 6 to 9 inches, & generally weigh from 2 to 6 pounds. They make great companions. Chihuahuas are very strong-willed and intensely loyal, intelligent, protective of family and home, and will be very affectionate. Chihuahuas require little grooming, & are great in an apartment setting because they require less space, & exercise. Chihuahuas come in both long, & short coats with average shedding of each. They have an average life span of 15.
